Veuve Clicquot's La Grande Dame Rosé 1998 Champagne is only produced in very limited amounts from 8 crus selected from Madame's own vineyards.
The blend comprises of Pinot Noir (64%), Chardonnay (36%) the 1998 rosé vintage of La Grande Dame has a nose that is full and intense with notes of orange peel, a hint of nuttiness and vanilla.
An equally powerful palate with a unique character of red fruit, biscuit and apricot, and a firm, persistent mousse.
"Striking in flavour and profile. A graceful, well-toned rosé, full of berry, autumn leaves and spice notes enmeshed in a rich texture, all supported by lively acidity. Stylish and beginning to mellow, with a long aftertaste of berry confit. Drink now through 2006." 93/100 pts. Wine Spectator - 2002
