Chateau Musar is the name of a Lebanese winery in Ghazir, Lebanon, 15 miles north of the capital Beirut.
Musar grapes grow in the Beqaa Valley, a beautiful, fertile sunny valley at an altitude of 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) situated 25 miles east of Beirut.
The Château Musar 2001 vintage sees the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Carignan dominating the Cinsault.The wine is scarlet in colour and has a complex nose of cigar spice, leather, cherries and blackcurrants.
The 2003 vintage is deep ruby in colour with notes of plum, blackcurrant, and spice. On the palate prune, liquorice, spice and dark cherry, with a long finish and vibrant acidity.
