Chateauneuf du Pape 1999 Château de Beaucastel is from one of the most famous Chateauneuf-du-Pape estates and produces traditional, full-bodied wines with fabulous ageing potential.
Beautcastel 1999 has flavours of peppery cassis fruit, chewy tobacco aromas and a long finish.
Very deep purple colour, with red tinges. Intense, rich and complex on the nose with hints of leather, black olives and spices. The mouth is dense, showing ripe dark fruit, velvety tannins and great structure. The finish is long.
Grenache (30%) contributes warming sensations of ripe fruit, velvetyin the mouth. Syrah at 10%, and Muscardin and Vaccarese with around 5% each add colour and spicy aromas and increase the wines ageing potential. 5% of Cinsault is added for softness.
