Nyetimber Estate produce wines made in England from 438 acres the largest vineyard in the UK with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier - the classic Champagne varieties. A new era for English wine began in 1988 when the first Nyetimber vineyards were planted in the heart of West Sussex where the geology and soils are similar to the Champagne region and the chalk seam found there reappears from under the Channel across the Sussex and Hampshire downlands. Their aim was to make premium sparkling wine that would rival Champagne. Over the years their premium sparkling wines have attracted international acclaim and set a high benchmark the world over.
